A very warm welcome to our wonderful Nursery
Eaglesfield Paddle CE Primary Academy is a vibrant rural school and nursery dedicated to giving every child the strongest possible start to their education. We provide a rich and engaging curriculum that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
Our highly skilled and experienced nursery staff create a supportive and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Recognising that each child is unique, we personalise learning experiences to help every child “be the best they can be.”
The school day begins promptly at 8:50 am. To support our working parents and carers, we are pleased to offer an early drop-off option from 8:30 am each morning. For our younger children in Nursery and Reception, parents and carers may drop their child off at the main Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) door from 8:30 am onwards, where a member of the EYFS team will be available to welcome them and support their transition into school.
We hope these arrangements provide a smooth and flexible start to the morning for all families, and we greatly appreciate your support in ensuring that children are in school and ready to begin their learning by 8:50 am. For those parents and carers who require an earlier start or childcare beyond the end of the Nursery school day, our wraparound care (CATC) is available from 7:45 am. Evening wraparound care runs until 5:30 pm daily and is open to all children from Nursery to Year 6.
Nursery sessions are available as morning, afternoon, or full-day options. Morning sessions run from 8:50 am to 12:00 pm, while afternoon sessions run from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Children are also welcome to stay for one of our freshly cooked school lunches.

At Eaglesfield Paddle, we are pleased to offer up to 30 hours of free childcare for working parents of 3- and 4-year-olds. All children aged 3 and 4 are eligible for up to 15 hours of free nursery education per week over 38 weeks. These free sessions, funded by the government, equate to five morning sessions of three hours each week.
Children who are eligible for up to 30 hours of free childcare may attend full-day sessions, or families may choose to use the hours more flexibly, including within our wraparound care provision, which runs from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Additional Nursery hours can be paid for via Arbor or Childcare Vouchers. Details of the current cost of additional hours can be found in our Pricing Policy.
A snack is provided for children in Nursery, and charges for this are made via Arbor.
