Faith in Deeds (FIDS)
At Eaglesfield Paddle CE Primary Academy, we are proud to be a Faith in Deeds (FIDS) school. FIDS encourages children to live out their faith through their actions – putting our Christian values of respect, responsibility and compassion into practice in everyday life. It helps our pupils to think about the world around them, to recognise when things are unfair, and to consider how they can first make a positive difference within the school, locally and eventually globally.
This is something new for the academic year 2025/26, and we are especially excited about our upcoming FIDS afternoon. During this time, the children will work together in groups to explore issues that really matter to them and to our wider community. They will share their ideas, discuss what changes or improvements would reflect our Christian values, and agree on the priorities they believe our school should focus on in the year ahead.
This process is a wonderful example of courageous advocacy. It gives our pupils the opportunity to use their voices to stand up for what they believe is right, to act with compassion and courage, and to shape the future of our school in a way that reflects the teachings of Christ. As the Bible reminds us: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18). We are looking forward to seeing how their ideas, rooted in faith and lived out through deeds, will help guide our journey in the year ahead.
