The Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools to help improve the attainment of their disadvantaged pupils. The Pupil Premium grant allocates funding to schools on the basis of the number of their pupils deemed to come from disadvantaged backgrounds and asks schools to demonstrate how the funding is helping to diminish the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium provides funding for pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals or have been eligible for Free School Meals during the previous six years (known as Ever 6) and children whose Parents/Carers are in the services. Children who have been Looked After for one day or more, were adopted from care, have a special guardianship order or a residence order receive Pupil Premium Plus funding. The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3 and 4-year-olds.

As a school, we have high expectations of all pupils, irrespective of background, and believe high quality and inclusive teaching makes learning accessible for all children. Our strategy is evidence-informed and we select a small number of priorities to give them the best chance of success. A tiered approach to Pupil Premium spending helps us to balance approaches to improving teaching, targeted academic support and wider strategies across the school.

Miss Amie Pattinson is our Pupil Premium Lead and Designated Teacher for Looked After (LAC) and Previously Looked After Children (PLAC). Our Disadvantaged Pupils Governor is Mr. Ed Strong and our Premium Reviews take place annually in October each year.
